Basic Tips on How to Stay Awake at Work

It’s only 10:30 in the morning, you haven’t even started anything yet at your desk, but you already felt sleepy and tired. Is it weird right? There are days when you’d rather sleep and idle in your bed instead of going to your workplace. We get you, and we’re here to help you combat exhaustion and sleepiness with these basic tips that we’ve compiled. Here they are:

*Go for a walk before hitting work

One of the easiest ways to combat sleepiness as you start your day is by taking a walk before you go to work. Getting fresh air and engaging physical activities can actually increase your alertness, making you ready to face the day with high energy.

* Have a dose of caffeine before you start your shift

Caffeine is undeniably our go-to when it comes to keeping awake and alert all day long.Just make sure that you control your caffeine intake, or else it can interfere with your ability to sleep after work. The best time to drink coffee is before starting your shift, so make sure to have a sip of warm coffee early in the morning.

(If you are quite in a hurry and couldn't drink your coffee at home, you can always take it with you at work with Ezisoul's Stainless Steel Water Bottle.)

*Drink water

Caffeine in the morning can only give you a temporary energy boost, so for you to stay alert during your entire shift, don't forget to drink water as well. Water is much healthier and it also keeps you hydrated. When you don't drink a lot of water, it's harder to concentrate on your task.

*Take Activity Breaks

Being in the same position for a long period of time can decrease your alertness and energy. If your job requires you to sit all day long behind your desk or stand all day long at the counter, then make sure to take activity breaks once in a while. For example, when answer phone calls, try walking around the office. There are also plenty of exercises that you can do even at your office desk.

*Utilize Energizing Scents to Keep You Alert

There are plenty of energizing scents that you can keep at your desk to help keep your alert level high all day long. Example of these scents are citrus, jasmine, and even peppermint. You can also make use of an essential oil infuser.
